Student Expectations By Year

General Expectations

Each student receiving an IGERT stipend must meet these requirements for continued IGERT support:

Is a full time resident student at OSU

Maintains a GPA of 3.0 or better in graduate courses

Undertakes an Ecosystem Informatics dissertation project, i.e. one that has a substantive component of physical/ecological science, computer science, and mathematics

Makes progress toward the degree including at least: (a) forms a committee with faculty representation from ≥ 3 participating programs including a balance of physical/ecological science, computer science, and mathematics; (b) files a program consistent with EI requirements, (c) defends a proposal on an EI topic

Obtains positive evaluations in each year of the Ph.D.  Student evaluations will be conducted to ensure that students are productively engaged and achieving successful communication and collaboration in team efforts and with faculty from diverse disciplines.  Each student will be assessed annually by the advisor, committee, and student self-evaluations reviewed by the executive committee.

Participates in Ecosystem Informatics activities (including colloquium) and protocol.
